2 escape scorched Duluth home

DULUTH - Fire destroyed a home in the 5100 block of Old Norcross Road in Duluth on Wednesday evening, officials said.

The blaze, which investigators think could have started in a basement laundry area, destroyed the single-story home. Firefighters found the home engulfed upon arrival just before 7:30 p.m.

Two adults were home at the time and escaped without injury, Fire Department spokesman Capt. Thomas Rutledge said.

No injuries were reported.
