Mr. Charles E. “Chuck” Banta, age 83, of Braselton, GA passed away on Monday, April 27, 2009. He was preceded in death by: his wife of 62 years, Rosemary Ratterman Banta. He would want to be remembered most as a loving husband, father, papa and a servant of the Lord. He is survived by: daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Donald Snyder, Braselton, GA and Teresa and Vincent Muller, Wellington, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Edith Banta, Dawsonville, GA; grandchildren, Jason Snyder, Athens, GA, Beth and Chad Morley, Cranberry TWP, PA, Michael Muller, Wellington, FL, Nicole Muller, Wellington, FL, Jeremy Banta, Dawsonville, GA, Nicholas Banta, Dawsonville, GA, Tyler Banta, Dawsonville, GA, and (Nick Hussain), Athens, GA; sister, Alletha Snabley, California; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Banta was born September 26, 1925 in Hamilton County, OH. He was a World War II army veteran having fought in the Battle of the Bulge and served seventeen months in the European Theatre as a radio operator. He was retired from Attorney's Title Insurance Fund in Broward County, FL after 59 years of service. He was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church in Margate, FL. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Davie, FL with Father Tom Wisniewski officiating. The family will receive friends at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home, Sawgrass Chapel, 371 Northwest 136th Avenue, Sunrise, FL 33325 on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Suite 222, 2150 Limestone Parkway, Gainesville, GA 30501 in memory of Charles “Chuck” Banta.
