Bright from the Start launches new Web site

ATLANTA - Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning has launched a new Web site to help parents find up-to-date information about child care, Georgia's Pre-K Program and nutrition services. The site is located at www.decal.ga.gov.

"We have redesigned the navigation features to allow families, teachers, providers and other site visitors quicker, easier access to our Web site," said Craig Detweiler, chief officer of operations and information. "Tools like site maps, frequently asked questions, education headlines, real time feeds of product and food recalls, expanded contact lists, and more than 150 useful links are also available. In addition, visitors will still be able to quickly find child care and Pre-K locations in their area using our updated search engine."

Bright from the Start is responsible for meeting the child care and early education needs of Georgia's children and their families. The agency administers the nationally recognized Georgia's Pre-K Program, licenses child care centers and home-based child care, administers federal nutrition programs, manages voluntary quality enhancement programs and houses the Head Start Collaboration Office.
