LAWRENCEVILLE - Police are searching for the driver of a Ford Expedition who reportedly fled the scene of a fatal crash early Saturday.
Mario Tucker, 24, of Loganville, died at the scene of the 3:40 a.m. single-vehicle wreck on Paper Mill Road at Effie Drive in Lawrenceville. He was one of six people in the black, 2003 vehicle when it slid off the road and struck a guardrail and utility police, police said. "The driver was negotiating a curve when (the driver) drove off the roadway, overcorrected the vehicle and began to rotate," said Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman. Three of four occupants in the back seat were ejected. A front seat passenger had to be extricated by firefighters, Spellman said. The driver fled on foot and remained at large Saturday night. The remaining passengers were transported to Gwinnett Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Criminal charges against the driver are pending, Spellman said.More like this story
