BRASELTON - Braselton has a story to tell.
The town is among more than 100 municipalities participating next week in Georgia Cities Week. This year's theme is "Georgia's Cities: A Story to Tell." Other participating cities include Auburn, Duluth, Gainesville, Monroe, Norcross, Snellville, Statham and Winder.
"Georgia Cities Week gives cities an opportunity to share with their citizens information about the valuable services cities provide to residents," according to the Georgia Municipal Association.
Braselton has several activities planned throughout the week, including a celebration of the Town Hall's 100th birthday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 20. Tours will be given of Town Hall, located at 4982 Ga. Highway 53, and birthday cake will be served.
Other activities include:
· A mock council meeting on April 23 where ninth- through 12th-graders serve as council members.
· A discussion of the Town Hall's rain garden project on April 24. Residents can get tips on how to set up their own.
· A Mulberry RiverWalk Cleanup. Meet at the wooden bridge on Silk Tree Point at 9 a.m. April 25 to clean up the walking trail along the Mulberry River.
