DACULA - No. 5 Hebron outhit No. 9 Lakeview Academy 10-3 but gave up nine walks, including seven in the first two innings, in a 9-8 loss on Wednesday. The Lions (11-2, 4-2) scored five times in the seventh, but left the tying run on second base to end the game. Ben Mason went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Jordy Penrod and Mike Wilkerson also went 2-for-4.
Kyle Hayes (4-2) gave up four runs in 12/3 innings to get the loss.
Duluth 4, Peachtree Ridge 3
DULUTH - Jacob Mauldin delivered the go-ahead hit for the second straight game as Duluth beat Peachtree Ridge 4-3 on Wednesday. Mauldin delivered a single in the fifth to give the Wildcats (5-10, 2-6) the lead. He also started and struck out three in two innings. Wesley Newton (1-0) gave up one earned in five innings of relief to get the win. He struck out five and gave up six hits.
Alex Raffensperger added a hit for Duluth.
Mill Creek 9, Collins Hill 6
HOSCHTON - Joey Webb went 4-for-4 as Mill Creek beat Collins Hill 9-6 on Wednesday. Webb drove in a run and scored another to lead the Hawks (11-5, 5-3). Jerad Curry (2-for-3) ripped a solo homer and scored twice. Buck Fleming (3-for-4) also had an RBI and a run scored.
Jake Adcock gave up six runs in six innings, but struck out four to get the win. Erik Osetkowski pitched a scoreless seventh to get the save.
North 10, Northview 7
SUWANEE - Nick Jones ripped a two-run homer as North Gwinnett beat Northview 10-7 on Wednesday. Jones finished 2-for-2 to lead the Bulldogs (8-8, 5-3). Kyle Norton and Connor Jenkins both went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Chad White (5-2) was the winning pitcher. He gave up two earned runs and two hits in five innings, while striking out six. Wyatt Brown got the last three outs to get his second save.
Grayson 5, South 4
SNELLVILLE - Grayson scored four runs in the second and held on to beat South Gwinnett 5-4 on Wednesday. Joey LaRocca (1-for-3) drove in two runs in the second with a double. Bryce Bessette (1-for-3) added an RBI triple for the Rams (11-4, 3-1).
Bryan Benzor (6-0) struck out five in 52/3 innings to get the win. He allowed four runs and two earned. Jo Jo Cruz got the last four outs to get his third save.
Shiloh 9, Berkmar 7
LILBURN - Berkmar committed six errors in a 9-7 loss to Shiloh on Wednesday. Starter Jimmie Drake gave up six runs, but only one earned, in 52/3 innings to get a no-decision for the Patriots (8-7, 1-3). Shayne Schilling (1-3) gave up three runs, one earned, in the final 11/3 innings to get the loss.
Drake drove in three runs with a double at the plate, while Mark Miller added two hits and an RBI.
Central 5, Dacula 2
DACULA - Central Gwinnett knocked off Dacula 5-2 on Wednesday. Steven Williams (1-2) gave up three runs, one earned, over five innings and got the loss. He struck out six.
Chris Owens had an RBI double for the Falcons (5-9, 0-4). Tyler Jarvis also had a double, while going 2-for-4.
Providence 11, Fellowship Christian 6
LILBURN - Chris Wages had a homer and three RBIs to lead Providence in an 11-6 win over Fellowship Christian on Wednesday. Wages finished 3-for-4 with two runs for the Stars (7-6-1, 2-1). Casey Gray (2-for-4) had a double and two RBIs. Burke Reynolds (2-for-4) added a pair of doubles.
Austin Barry (4-1) picked up the win. He allowed no earned runs on five hits and struck out five. Billy Mangum struck out four in two innings of relief.
Westminster 5, Wesleyan 1
NORCROSS - Wesleyan managed only three hits in a 5-1 loss to Westminster on Wednesday. Kevin O'Leary drove in the Wolves' (9-6) only run with a first-inning double. Drew Fithian picked up the loss. He gave up four runs, two earned, in six innings to go with six strikeouts.
Wesleyan 3, Whitefield Acad. 0
MABLETON - Page Pickert scored twice to lead Wesleyan over Whitefield Academy 3-0 on Wednesday. Jane Strader added the other goal for the Wolves (11-4). Darby Coxhead and Kirsten White each had an assist.
Goalie Hannah Duane made 11 saves to earn the shutout.
Wesleyan wins Par 3 tri-meet
ALPHAERTTA - Wesleyan beat Westminster and Lovett Wednesday on the Par 3 course at River Pines. The Wolves (6-0) finished with a 66, Westminster shot a 73, while Lovett had an 84. Taylor Blair and Jenna McConnico each shot rounds of 33 for Wesleyan.
Cedar Shoals 3, Apalachee 2
WINDER - Apalachee remains winless in sub-region play after a 3-2 loss to Cedar Shoals on Wednesday. Alex Soubannarath won the No. 3 singles match for the Wildcats (3-12, 0-10). Josh Mousinho and Cody Dupre won at No. 2 doubles.
