Gwinnett to be hopping with Easter egg hunts

LAWRENCEVILLE - The hunts will be on this weekend.

Kids can search for those elusive Easter eggs at events around Gwinnett County on Friday and Saturday. The following is a list of hunts that are open to the public and free, unless otherwise noted.

· The Hudgens Center for the Arts, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Building 300, will host a hunt in its sculpture garden from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday for children ages 2 to 10. Admission is $10 per child and the event is limited to 50 participants. In case of inclement weather, this event will be canceled.

· The Mall of Georgia will host its fifth annual Easter egg hunt in the mall village beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday for children age 8 and younger. Call 678-482-8788 for more information.

· A Norcross community hunt will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Rossie Brundage Park, 350 Autry St., Norcross. The event includes entertainment, music, face painting, inflatables and a visit from the Easter bunny from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 770-448-2122 or visit www.norcrossga.net.

· First Baptist Church of Duluth will hold an Easter celebration and egg hunt from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Friday for children through fifth grade. The church is at 2909 Ga. Highway 120 in Duluth. Call 770-476-3788.

· First Baptist Church of Lawrenceville will hold a hunt beginning at noon Saturday at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse, 185 W. Crogan St. in Lawrenceville, for children through fifth grade. Call 770-963-5121.

· First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville will host an Easter festival from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, including an egg hunt for toddlers to third-graders and a scavenger hunt for fourth- and fifth-graders, at 700 Braselton Highway in Lawrenceville.
