Dacula resident wins national service award
DACULA - Dacula resident Karen Kalivoda, director of the University of Georgia Disability Resource Center, recently received the 2009 American College Personnel Association College Student Educators International's Disability Service Provider Award.
This award is presented annually to a disability service professional who has advanced services for students with disabilities through dedication and advocacy. UGA's center has won numerous awards under Kalivoda's leadership and the award recognizes contributions made for university students with disabilities for more than 25 years.
Kalivoda holds degrees in psychology, rehabilitation counseling and higher education from the University of Georgia.
GGC to host info sessions at public libraries
LAWRENCEVILLE - Georgia Gwinnett College will host information sessions about the college at several Gwinnett County Public Library branches in the next few months.
These sessions will cover information regarding GGC's academic majors, admissions and financial aid. All sessions will be held from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The location and dates are as follows:
· Collins Hill Branch: April 29, May 13 and June 10
· Suwanee Branch: April 16, April 28, May 12 and June 9.
· Five Forks Branch: April 27, May 6 and June 16.
