ANNETTE Valerie Annette Floyd, age 27, of Snellville, GA passed away on April 4, 2009. Valerie is survived by her parents, Ricky and Mary Jane Willett Floyd of Snellville, GA; brother, Richard Floyd of Stone Mountain, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Shane Seder of Loganville, GA; niece and nephews, Alex, Kayla and Jacob; grandmother, Mae Floyd of Snellville, GA; Valerie's devoted caregiver of 6 years, Constance Faulkner, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Diana Celeste Floyd, paternal grandparents, Armenius and Arlie Floyd of Snellville, GA; maternal grandparents, Charles and Marie Willett of Loganville, GA. Valerie was the third recipient in the United States to receive a bone marrow transplant for Hurler's Syndrome. Her life has been a miracle and we have been graced with her presence here for a least 20 years longer than expected due to this medical intervention. Valerie did not allow her physical or mental disabilities to interfere with her ability to reach out to others by giving out water or Coke to those who regularly came to her family's door, or hand-drawn cards if she knew someone was ill. She had a true ability to choose the right gifts. Valerie's life is a reminder of how precious the life of every individual is and how much God loves each of us as individuals, no matter our station in life. She attended the S.T.R.I.V.E. Program through the Gwinnett County School System and had worked at Home Depot. Her favorite movie was Annie, she enjoyed puzzles and did iron on beads with her small hands. She loved people and got to go to Disney World last year to see one of her favorite characters
Mickey Mouse. The Service Celebrating the Life of Valerie will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel with Rev. J.B. Reese, Jr. and Rev. Jake Reed officiating. Interment at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
