BUFORD - The Tannery Row Artist Colony will host a themed show called "Safari" this fall.
"Safari," billed as a journey in art encompassing works in clay, paint, fiber, metal and more, will open next month. The art opening and reception is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 18 at 554 W. Main St., Building C, in Buford. "I think it will be a very interesting show in how people see that journey of searching and finding, of making a discovery," said Judy Isaak, a potter at the Tannery who is creating tiles with animals and jungle items for the show. The 2D and 3D pieces in the juried show, created by members of the Artist Colony and about 20 outside artists, can be purchased. After the art opening, the exhibition, which is free and open to the public, will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays until Dec. 6. Tannery Row Artist Colony is a group of 17 artists who work and sell their art. The Colony, located in historic downtown Buford, is housed in a former leather-goods factory.
