SUWANEE - Parents and community members can join Gwinnett County Public Schools staff next month in a review of proposed curriculum materials.
The instructional material review, scheduled for Wednesday to Oct. 31 at the Instructional Support Center, allows educators, parents and community members to provide input on proposed materials for science, health and physical education in kindergarten through grade 12, mathematics in grades 10 to 12 and reading intervention in grades 9 to 12.
The school system holds a review before adopting the materials for classroom use, a news release states. Materials submitted by publishers are reviewed for alignment with Gwinnett's Academic Knowledge and Skills curriculum. The materials are also piloted in classrooms as part of the review process.
The materials will be available for review from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays Wednesday to Oct. 31 in the Building 200 lobby of the Instructional Support Center at 437 Old Peachtree Road in Suwanee. The materials can also be reviewed from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 9 and 23 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 11 and 25.
