Diana Luther Brown, 67, died at DeKalb Medical Center on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 after a valiant battle with cancer. The Stone Mountain, Ga., resident was happiest when spending time with her children, whom she lived her life for. She enjoyed reading and writing and was passionate about the proper use of language. She worked as a legal assistant for nearly 30 years. Mrs. Brown was born in Baltimore on May 23, 1941 to the late James and Blanche Luther. She finished high school in Wausau, WI, and gave birth to two children in Milwaukee and one in Green Bay before moving to Stone Mountain in 1974. Survivors include sons, Christopher Brown of Cherrylog, Gregory Brown of Stone Mountain; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and John Michaud of Flowery Branch; and cousins, Janet and John Shafer of Milwaukee, John and Fran Luther of Stoughton, WI., Tom and Barb Luther, Pete and Sandy Luther, Rob and Deb Luther, all of Madison, WI., and Kate and Peter Adams of Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Scott Brown, and brother. James Luther, Jr. She was cremated at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, Ga. A private ceremony with friends and family was held to honor her life at a friend's home on Saturday, Sept. 20.
