“BARTOW” James “Bartow” Jenkins of Lawrenceville, kept the faith, fought the good fight and on September 17, 2008 finished his race here on earth at the age of 81. Bartow was a dedicated public servant, a loving husband, father and grandfather and a committed Christian. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Anne Sims Jenkins; five children, Jim and Cherly Jenkins of Dacula, GA, Jennifer and Phil Ash of Dacula, GA, Nancy and Don Dutton of Loganville, GA, Lauren and Michael McDougald of Dacula, GA and Robin Jenkins of Grayson, GA; eight grandchildren, James Jenkins, Ashley Jenkins, Christine Dutton, Katelyn Dutton, Charlie Anne Dutton, Chase McDougald, Spencer McDougald, and Kathryn Berry. Bartow is also survived by his mother-in-law, Nell Sims; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Eva Jean Jenkins of Houston, TX; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sarah and Charles Healan of Atlanta, GA; cousins, Earl Gilliam, Jr., Mac Gilliam and Roger Gilliam and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 2 o'clock at Lawrenceville First Baptist Church with Rev. Inman Houston and Dr. Lamar Holley officiating. Entombment will be at East Shadowlawn Cemetery in Lawrenceville. Flowers accepted or those desiring can make donations to Hope Clinic, 318 W.
