Man killed in robbery at Norcross hotel

NORCROSS - A guest at an extended stay hotel in Norcross was shot and killed outside his room early Wednesday, police said.

The man died at the Allaround Suites in the 3100 block of Medlock Bridge Road during an attempted robbery, Norcross Police Chief Dallas Stidd said. The shooting happened just after midnight.

Police described the victim, who was not named, as a white, middle-aged man. A second victim inside the room was not seriously injured, police said.

Stidd said police had identified possible suspects Wednesday afternoon.

"We're tracking them down right now," he said.

Stidd said police have been called to the business in the past, but never for a crime so serious as murder. He declined to discuss the scenario that led to the man's death.

"I really don't want to divulge much about the incident," Stidd said. "We're working leads from last night."
