Title I schools to promote parental involvement
LAWRENCEVILLE - Nine Title I schools have teamed up to provide parents with information about how the school and home can work together to help every child succeed.
The group participating in the "Be There Fair" includes eight schools from the Berkmar cluster - J.A. Alford Elementary, Benefield Elementary, Bethesda Elementary, Corley Elementary, Kanoheda Elementary, Rebecca Minor Elementary, Berkmar Middle and Sweetwater Middle - as well as Charles Brant Chesney Elementary in Duluth. The free event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Sweetwater Middle at 3500 Cruse Road in Lawrenceville.
Title I schools have a higher percentage of students receiving free or reduced lunch and receive federal funds to better serve their students.
