Allgood Cycle For Parkinsons scheduled

The Allgood Cycle for Parkinsons, a bicycle event to raise money for Parkinsons Disease research, is scheduled for Oct. 4-5 in Gwinnett. Previously a one-day event in its first two years, it has expanded to two this year.

A highlight of the event will be the Oct. 5 criterium races on the campus of Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville. The races are hosted by the Gwinnett Sports Commission, Frazier Cycling and Top View Sports.

Mill Creek's Murdock on Coach's Corner

Mill Creek softball coach Kelly Murdock is this week's guest on Coaches Corner, a local high school sports TV show. Other features include Charles Perkins as player of the week, Parkview football as the team of the week and the Loganville 11-year-old football team as team to watch.

Coaches Corner airs Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. on Comcast channel 25, as well as Thursdays at 7 and 8 p.m. on Charter channel 19.

Play-by-Play Advertising also will feature this Friday's South Gwinnett-Grayson football as its game of the week. The tape-delay game broadcasts air Mondays at 7 p.m. on Comcast channel 25 and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. on Charter channel 19. This week's broadcast is last Friday's Parkview-Berkmar matchup.

Tennis event set for Gwinnett

The second Infinite Energy Atlanta Slam is returning to the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Dec. 13.

The event will feature a doubles matches between popular doubles teams Bob and Mike Bryan and Luke and Murphy Jensen, as well as a singles match between young American stars James Blake and Sam Querrey.

Golf cart raffle to benefit breast cancer research

The Georgia Golf Course Owners Association and Fore Georgia, the official publication of the Georgia PGA Section, have teamed up on a raffle for a pink ClubCar golf cart to raise money for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure's Atlanta Chapter for breast cancer research.

The grand prize winner has the option of the golf cart or a $5,000 shopping spree at any PGA Tour Superstore. Raffle tickets are $20 each, three for $50 or seven for $100.
