Prep roundup: Buford rallies in eighth to beat GAC

NORCROSS - No. 1 ranked Buford used three runs in the eighth inning to beat No. 7 Greater Atlanta Christian 4-1 on Thursday.

GAC took a 1-0 lead in the first inning after Chaney Means drove in Sarah Armstrong. Buford (14-2) tied the game in the fifth 1-1 and added three runs in the extra inning.

Buford's Karly Fullem (7-1) threw a complete game and gave up five hits, no earned runs and struck out four batters.

Whitney Holman was 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run and Lexi Overstreet was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Andrea Hannah finished the night 1-for-3 with a double, and a run for the Wolves.

Maddy Baker, Morgan Sitzes and Means were 1-for-3 for the Spartans (7-7, 1-2).


Parkview 9, Shiloh 1

NORCROSS - Jordan DeArmon pitched a no-hitter, struck out eight and walked three as the Panthers took a 9-1 win over Shiloh in five innings on Thursday.

Jamie Dennis went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs and Summer Rose was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Kelsey Heart finished 1-for-2 with a double and three RBIs for Parkview (10-5).

Dacula 8, Central 0

LAWRENCEVILLE - Allie Miles pitched a one-hitter and struck out nine to help Dacula shut out Central Gwinnett 8-0 on Thursday.

Charlotte Sieber went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI, while Kelsey Martin was 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs.

Brittany Taylor was 2-for-3 with a run for Dacula.

Northview 1, Collins Hill 0

SUWANEE - Lauren Reader pitched a strong game, but it wasn't enough as Northview shut out Collins Hill 1-0 on Thursday.

Reader (5-1) threw a complete game and gave up six hits, one unearned run and struck out four for the Eagles.

Peachtree Ridge 6, North Forsyth 0

CUMMING - Krysten Connelly threw a complete game two-hitter and struck out 12 as Peachtree Ridge shut out North Forsyth 6-0 on Thursday.

Gabby Bedard was 2-for-3 with two runs and Sade Johnson was 2-for-3 with a run. Callie Fernandez went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a double and Chandler Frisbie was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Ely Simpson went 1-for-1 with an infield single for Peachtree Ridge (15-3).

North Gwinnett 8, South Forsyth 1

CUMMING - Brandee Kocik was 2-for-2 with two doubles to help North Gwinnett defeat South Forsyth 8-1 on Thursday.

Kristen Hall scored a triple, while Kacey Martin went 2-for-4 with two singles and Emily Beam went 2-for-3 with two singles.

Brittany Broome, Alex McDavid, Tori Freedman and Brianna Shallis each had a hit for North.

McDavid (6-0) was the winning pitcher for North Gwinnett (11-2-1).

Norcross 4, Chattahoochee 3

CHATTAHOOCHEE - Alexandra Foulke struck out five batters and gave up three hits as Norcross topped Chattahoochee 4-3 on Thursday.

At the plate, Foulke went 2-for-4 with a triple. Anisha Dixon was 2-for-4 and Jessie Locklear was 2-for-3 for Norcross (6-6).

Providence wins doubleheader

LILBURN - Providence beat St. Francis 16-1 in three innings and shut out Paideia 8-0 in five innings on Thursday.

In the first game, Brianna Canady (7-1) pitched a one-hitter and struck out six batters for the win.

Lindsay Emerich went 3-for-4 with five RBIs and a double and Kendal White had an RBI, single and three runs. Breanna Thompson helped out with an RBI, single and two runs for Providence.

Kylie Kleinschmidt threw a no-hitter in the second game and struck out 14 batters. Offensively, Kleinschmidt had an RBI, double and two runs.

Courtney Frazier was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Lauren Eggert was 2-for-2 with a double, triple and three runs. Rachel Reiswig went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Providence (20-5).

Eagles Landing Christian 8, Wesleyan 0

NORCROSS - Wesleyan was shut out 8-0 by Eagles Landing Christian on Thursday.

Wesleyan's record is now 8-3-1.


Parkview goes 3-for-3

SUWANEE - Parkview improved to 8-9 after beating North Hall 25-18, 25-21, Collins Hill 25-12, 25-16 and Providence 25-14, 25-18 on Thursday at the Collins Hill Classic.

Lauren Coleman contributed 20 kills, Audrey Hipple had seven aces and Libby Lukens had 30 assists for Parkview. Katie Carrol had 24 assists and Jordan Flanagan had 33 digs for the Panthers.

Shiloh falls to Flowery Branch, North Cobb

SUWANEE - Shiloh lost to Flowery Branch 17-25, 19-25 and fell to North Cobb 14-25, 16-25 at the Collins Hill Classic on Thursday.

Norcross splits

DACULA - Norcross beat Dacula 23-25, 27-25, 25-22 and fell to Oconee County 8-25, 23-25 on Thursday.

Rachel Monteagudo had 28 assists and 15 digs and Tiffany Clarke had 16 kills and six blocks. Briana Jordan had four aces for Norcross (9-4).

Hebron loses two

SUWANEE - Hebron fell to Kell 14-23, 20-25 and Hart County 21-25, 20-25 at the Collins Hill Classic on Thursday.

Jenny Conner had 10 assists and Courtney Bishop had nine kills, three aces and a block. Kline Couch contributed six kills for Hebron (8-10).

Dacula splits

DACULA -Dacula fell to Norcross 23-25, 27-25, 21-25 and beat Oconee County 19-25, 26-24, 25-21 on Thursday.

Courtney Weider contributed 20 digs and Madison Kubal had 22 digs. Sarah Beth White had 14 kills and Courtney Williams added 12 kills for Dacula.

Roselande Corneille had 30 assists for Dacula (9-4).

Wesleyan beats Marist

NORCROSS - Weslyan beat Marist 26-24, 25-19, 25-12 on Thursday.

Anne Marie Armstrong had 24 kills and five digs and Grace Leah Baughn had four kills and three digs.

Maddison Boyd contributed five kills and Maggie Smith had 37 assists for Wesleyan (19-5).

Providence goes 0-3

Suwanee - Providence lost to Collins Hill 17-25, 10-25 and North Hall 10-25, 15-25 and Parkview 14-25, 18-25 on Thursday.

Laura Carlisle, Lindsey Meredith and Megan DeLong each had outstanding performances on the night for Providence.
