LAWRENCEVILLE - A 30-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly attacked two women and a child in the parking lot of the Gwinnett County Justice and Administration Center Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
Several people witnessed Michael A. Daniel attack one of the women in Justice Center's parking lot, and ran back into the courthouse to alert sheriff's deputies, according to Gwinnett Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Stacey Bourbonnais. All three victims are known to the suspect. Daniel, reported to be in an extremely agitated state, was combative with a deputy and refused verbal commands to surrender, Bourbonnais said. "The deputy drew his Taser and again ordered Mr. Daniel to the ground," she said. "At that time, he complied but continued cursing the deputy. " In addition to facing two counts of simple battery and a single count of simple assault, Daniel was also charged with a misdemeanor count of possessing a controlled substance for carrying an unmarked bottle containing several prescription pills, Bourbonnais said.More like this story
