Officials came together to make Gustav evacuation a great success

Kudos to New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin, Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal and Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff for a job well done. We witnessed a positive effort of government on every level to protect the citizens of Louisiana from Hurricane Gustav.

As I watched and admired all the people of Louisiana in action, the station switched to an interview with Sen. Christopher Dodd regarding the pending hurricane. He used this national TV moment to dwell on the Bush Administration failures of Hurricane Katrina.

It is becoming very easy to see why Washington is broken. Congress can't seem to focus on the problems at hand.
