ROY Roy Winston (Sonny) Wiggins, Jr., age 72, of Snellville, GA died on Saturday, September 6, 2008, after an extended illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Brenda Gibbs Wiggins of Snellville, sons, Mark (LeAnn) Wiggins of Kansas, Tony Barnell of Monticello, GA, and Travis (Dana) Barnell of McDonough, GA, daughters, Pam Wiggins White and Melonie (Brian) Wiggins-Epperson of Snellville, GA, daughter-in-law, Teresa Teems of Cumming, GA twelve grandchildren, sisters, Patricia (Johnny) Kinder of Conyers, GA and Betty Bowden of Bishop, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Winston Wiggins, Sr. and Lettice Adora McLean Wiggins and Father & Mother-in-law, Aaron and Ann Gibbs. He was raised in Athens, GA and attended the University of Georgia and Young Harris College. He lived the last 36 years in Snellville, GA. Mr. Wiggins served in the United States Army and retired from Southern Bell after 35 years of service. He was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church. He loved sports and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. A Service Celebrating the Life of Roy Winston (Sonny) Wiggins, Jr. will be held Tuesday, September 9th, 2008 at 2:00PM at Sunrise Baptist Church with the remains placed in state at 1:00PM, with Rev. J.B. Reese, Jr., Dr. David Poe, Rev. Cecil Clegg and Rev Dennis Nunn officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Shepherd Center, 2020 Peachtree Rd.
