ATLANTA - Buford senior Dallas Lee has been selected as the Touchdown Club of Atlanta's High School Lineman of the Week for his efforts in the Wolves' season-opening win.
Lee, who has committed to Georgia, will be honored during the club's Monday meeting at the Fox Sports Grill at Atlantic Station. The noon meeting will feature guest speaker Jim Grobe, the head football coach at Wake Forest.
Lee played a huge role in Buford's 42-21 win over Mansfield Timberview (Texas) in the Kirk Herbstreit Challenge at Texas Stadium in Irving. The 6-foot-4, 295-pounder made 11 tackles, including three for losses, and had a sack.
In addition to Lee, the St. Pius football team will be honored as the High School Team of the Week. The Golden Lions, coached by longtime Dacula assistant Paul Standard, defeated rival Marist in the season opener to win the "Fish Bowl" trophy.
The other honorees are Harrison's David Hines as High School Coach of the Week for his Hoyas' win over Peachtree Ridge and Milton's Toney Williams as High School Back of the Week.
