NORCROSS -With five runners in the top 10, the Wesleyan boys cruised to the Region 6-AA cross country title Thursday and the girls did the same, with four runners in the top 10.
The Wolves' boys won the event with 28 points and county rival Providence came in second with 44 points. Both teams earned a berth to next Saturday's state meet in Carrollton. Brandon Ramsey led the way for Wesleyan, finishing second. Following him was Christopher Duvall in fourth, Bradley Gossett in sixth, Townshend Young in seventh and Will Taylor in ninth. For Providence, Elias Crist finished third in 17 minutes, 3 second, Eric Mills (17:15) finished fifth and Jonathan Preg (17:52) finished 10th. In the girls race, Wesleyan won with 27 points, just ahead of Providence with 34. Wesleyan's Jane Strader, Erika Ramsey and Mary Pate Mills finished in the top 3 spots, respectively, and Laura Carver took 10th. Lauren Kelly (21:22) led the Stars, finishing fourth, followed by Jordan Kelly (22:02) in sixth, Allison Preg (22:12) in seventh, Sarah Sharpe (22:13) in eighth and Marina Lunsford (22:25) in ninth.More like this story
