Gwinnett Daily Post
Gwinnett's handling of advance voting has been a disgrace. Who thought five advance voting locations would be sufficient for a county with more than 350,000 registered voters? Lines have exceeded three hours almost continuously.
Trying to get an absentee ballot has been a nightmare. I'm glad I waited until after they found the absentee ballots were misprinted. But I tried to fax my application for an absentee ballot for more than five hours with no luck - the line was busy. Trying to call the county elections office yielded the same results. Turning in my application personally is out of the question, since the elections office is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., when most citizens, including myself, are at work. Those who can't make it to the polls on Election Day are likely to be disenfranchised by this mess. This cannot possibly be a fair and honest election in Gwinnett. I am shocked that our most cherished right to vote is treated so flippantly by those in charge of making sure we can exercise it.More like this story
