Frances Sills Lindsey, age 90, of Duluth, Georgia passed away on Friday, October 17, 2008 at her niece's home in Lilburn where she had made her residence for the past four years. Mrs. Lindsey was born March 25, 1918 in Brookhaven, Georgia, daughter of the late Raymond T. Sills and Clara Adams Sills. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Guy L. Lindsey, sister Betty Blizzard, and brothers, Harold, Jack, and Ray Sills. She is survived by her sister Ellen Green, nieces, Eleanor Flanagan and Mary Sexton and her husband, Leon Sexton and a loving host of other nieces and nephews, cousins and devoted friends. Mrs. Lindsey graduated from Chamblee High School and worked for AT&T until 1945 when she and her husband began their own contracting business. In addition to her contracting duties, she was very active in the Eastern Star, achieving the rank of Grand Worthy Matron. Mrs. Lindsey was a long time member of Winters Chapel UMC, where she worked as the treasurer for many years. She was also a very energetic worker for Gwinnett County at the election polls and one of the founders of the Pinckneyville Festival. She ran a successful ceramics shop in the basement of her home in Duluth before retiring with her husband to travel extensively. They enjoyed camping in their motor home with the Lucky 13 Chapter of the Good Sam Club, visiting every state in America. They also took many vacations to Europe, Australia, Japan, Canada, Mexico, and Hawaii and Alaska. Frances Lindsey was an extraordinary woman who lived her life to the fullest while serving her community, church, family, and friends. We who loved her and are left behind will miss her very much and thank God for the blessing that she was to our lives. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home in Norcross.
