GAINESVILLE - The Collins Hill cross country program swept the boys and girls team titles at the Coach Wood Invitational on Saturday at Gainesville College.
The girls team was led by Amanda Winslow, Nicky Akande and Vicky Winslow's 1-2-3 finishes to capture the team title with 22 points. North Gwinnett was second and Parkview was third.
Amanda Winslow won the race with a time of 17 minutes, 31 seconds, breaking Emily Reese's course record and Jackie Drouin's school record.
Akande was second with 18:22.18 and Vicky Winslow was third with 18:22.78. Allyson McGinty (18:58) was sixth, Briana Crawford (19:16) was 11th, Sydney Williams (19:23) was 12th and Chloe Whitworth (19:24) was 13th for the Eagles.
Nicole DiMercurio was North's top runner, finishing fourth with a time of 18:49. The Bulldogs' Lauren Kester was seventh with a time of 19:00.
Greater Atlanta Christian's Lauren Kester took seventh with a time of 18:59.
No. 2 Collins Hill won the boys team competition with 77 points, outlasting No. 1 ranked Brookwood, who had 134 points. North Gwinnett was sixth and Parkview was seventh.
Collins Hill was led by Carlos Galindo's seventh place finish with a time of 16:12. Andy Gonzalez (16:24.09) was 12th, Alex Kellams (16:24.77) was 13th, Joe Sokohl (16:47.39) was 22nd and Nganda Gatei (16:47.90) was 23rd.
Dacula's Mike McClay was Gwinnett's top finisher in the boys race, taking third place with a time of 15:56. Grayson's Erassa Kirubel was fourth with a time of 16:03.
Michael Sexton (16:19) took ninth for Brookwood and Tommy George (16:25) was 14th.
Chapel Hill's Taylor Lord won the boys title with a time of 15:37 and Columbus' Charlie Sparks was second with a time of 15:45.
