Owner: Sunny's Cafe is Lawrenceville resident Sunny Braswell's first restaurant venture. A native of Korea, Braswell said she included Korean-influenced dishes on her menu to show Americans her culture's food.
"So far, people love it," she said.
"I like feeding people," Braswell added. "When people are eating (my food), it makes me feel so good."
Atmosphere: The aroma of coffee and freshly cooked food might make your mouth water with anticipation as you enter Sunny's Cafe, which offers table seating in a cozy atmosphere. Enjoy your meal surrounded by pictures of lighthouses in the larger dining area or snag the lone bench for a crowd of people near the register.
Menu: Sunny's Cafe offers breakfast and lunch items. Lunch selections include cold and hot sandwiches, salads and Korean dishes. Braswell said the chicken salad sandwich is the most popular lunch item, followed by the Bul-go-gi - Korean-style beef or chicken with broccoli and carrots on a bed of steamed brown and white rice served with a mahn du, or pot sticker.
Sunny's Cafe also offers a large selection of coffees and teas, as well as dessert and fruit smoothies, including cookies and cream, coffee toffee, French vanilla, chocolate chunk, orange creamsicle, strawberry, peach and four berry blast.
Things you might not know: Braswell is working on expanding her menu offerings. Patrons can expect to see more Korean food, a meatball sandwich and a spinach salad, among other additions.
