WINDER - Winder police ask for the public's help in tracking down two armed robbers who struck a pawn shop Tuesday afternoon.
Just after 3 p.m., the two black men entered a Pawn Mart business at 22 South Broad Street, drew handguns on three employees working in the store and left with an undisclosed amount of jewelry and cash. No one was injured, police said. Winder police spokesman Lt. Todd Druse said witnesses provided police with detailed descriptions of the men. Both are described as over six feet tall, carrying black semi-automatic handguns, he said. One suspect was clean-shaven and wore a blue Atlanta Braves hat, an oversized white T-shirt, blue jeans and white hi-top tennis shoes. The second suspect has a close-cropped beard and mustache and wore a black ball cap with white seams, a long-sleeved gray shirt, dark colored jeans with faded spots and black tennis shoes with white soles, Druse said. Police haven't determined if the suspects fled on foot or in a vehicle. They were carrying large gym bags or backpacks, Druse said. Police urge anyone with information about the robbery to call Winder police Investigator Missy Towe at 770-867-2156.More like this story
