LILBURN - After Monday night's vote of the Lilburn City Council, the city's new Greenway Trail will have signage listing its rules at the Main Street entrance and possible other locations designated by the panel.
The city manager was authorized by the council to enter into a contract for fabrication and installation of the preferred sign design to be determined. According to Councilman Eddie Price, there will be between two to three signs at the location, not to exceed a total of $2,000. In other business, the Council: · Approved an ordinance to amend the Lawrenceville Highway Corridor Overlay District in an effort to ease restrictions on attracting development there. This ordinance sets the threshold levels for the overlay to help out with the landscaping and parking. · Granted a special-use permit to allow the Mietoville religion (Buddhist chanting) to use their location at 4450 Business Park Court for a prayer room (1,200 square feet) on Sunday only. The permit also includes a mini-warehouse. · Okayed a contract with Penn Credit as its debt collection vendor, as recommended by the Georgia Municipal Association. · Decided not to renew the present contractor for Misdemeanor Probation Services and instead to solicit requests for proposals for the services. · Commended Richard Johnson for the road work at 221 Greenwood Drive.More like this story
