Man found dead at Duluth apartment complex April 19, 2014

Sarah Virginia Baldwin Cheek, age 94, of Lawrenceville, GA died peacefully with her daughter and grandchildren by her side on October 8, 2008. She is survived by: daughter, Virginia Jo Cheek Kennedy of Plano, Texas, 4 grandchildren, Robyn Patton of Golden, Colorado, Allyson McMillan of Suwanee, GA, Jay & Melissa Patton of Atlanta, GA, and Bobby Kennedy of Suwanee, GA, 7 great grandchildren- Earl (Trey) Pope, III, Conner McMillan, Sarah McMillan, Hope Kennedy, Mallory McMillan, Shaw Patton, and Nora Patton, Sister-in-law, Cathryn Cheek of Columbus, GA, and Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Mrs. Cheek was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jonah P. Cheek who operated a Barber Shop on the historic courthouse square in Lawrenceville for many years. She was a graduate of the old Lawrenceville High School, was a Homemaker, and deeply loved all animals especially her cat, Smokey, that was her companion in her later years. Mrs. Cheek loved to watch television and enjoyed to crochet. Her greatest joy in her life was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A Memorial Service Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Cheek will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008, at 1:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with The Rev. Dr. R. Page Fulgham officiating. Interment will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Saturday.
