Dacula alumni gathering set for Friday

The Dacula High School student council is hosting an alumni night at Friday's homecoming football game against Parkview.

Dacula graduates will be honored at the game and more activities are planned for former Falcons who were involved with extracurricular activities. That includes a meet-and-greet session from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday in the auxiliary gym for former athletes, cheerleaders and band members.

Hebron football location, time changed

Hebron Christian's varsity football game Friday with host North Cobb Christian has a new venue and time. The matchup will be played at Alltoona High School's field with a 7 p.m. start. It was originally slated for 5 p.m. at North Cobb Christian.

Tailgate Tour stops at Peachtree Ridge on Fri.

The Georgia Football Magazine Tailgate Tour will be at Friday's Mill Creek at Peachtree Ridge football game. The magazine will have a tent set up with games, music and free stuff for fans.

Lions' Ballard on 'Coaches Corner'

Peachtree Ridge head football coach Bill Ballard is this week's guest on "Coaches Corner," a local high school sports TV show. The show also features Dacula's Hunter Watts as player of the week and Parkview football as team of the week.

"Coaches Corner" airs Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. on Comcast channel 25 and Thursdays at 7 and 8 p.m. on Charter channel 19.

Play-by-Play Advertising also will shoot Brookwood-Grayson as its tape-delayed game of the week on Friday. It will air the following Monday on Comcast at 7 p.m. and the following Wednesday on Charter at 7 p.m.

NASCAR making progress with tires at Indy

INDIANAPOLIS - Goodyear and NASCAR officials say tire wear has improved significantly during this week's testing at Indianapolis.

This is the second test conducted at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway since July's Allstate 400 turned into a series of 10- to 12-lap sprints because the tires wore out.
