AUBURN - The city of Auburn is doing its part next weekend to honor the Great American Clean-Up.
Auburn residents are asked to rid their homes of any unwanted batteries, motor oil, scrap metal, electronics, cell phones, ink cartridges or miscellaneous junk. The Clean-Up lasts from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Containers for collection will be set up throughout the weekend next to Auburn City Hall, 1369 Fourth Ave.
The Clean-Up will also accept automobile tires, at a required cost of $2 per tire, organizer Charlotte Ewing said.
Ewing said the following items cannot be accepted:
· Any type of paint
· Paint thinner
· Cooking oil
