Gwinnett Daily Post
The Gwinnett Gladiators' annual open house event will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth.
Area fans can make a full day of hockey if they desire. The Atlanta Thrashers' open house is being held earlier in the day, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Philips Arena.
Fans will have the opportunity to select seats and purchase a ticket package for the upcoming season at both events.
Gladiators' individual game tickets will be available for purchase at the arena box office during the open house.
A handful of Gladiators players from the 2008-09 squad and the team mascot, Maximus, will be in attendance signing autographs.
Ticket package holders who attend the open house also will have the opportunity to "Be the Voice" of the Gladiators with an interactive play-by-play calling experience. Ticket package holders will be able to choose from between three different Gladiators plays and receive a DVD of their game call.
At the Thrashers' open house, the first 50 fans in attendance will receive a free ticket to the Thrashers' preseason game that night against the St. Louis Blues.
Fans can watch the Thrashers and Blues' morning skate for free beginning at 10 a.m. Hot dogs, popcorn and soda will be available for $1 each. Members of the Blue Crew will be on hand to help fans select their perfect seat. The open house is the last chance to pick from the best available locations for all ticket plans before the Oct. 10 season-opener against the Washington Capitals.
