Gwinnett Daily Post
This was a week to reflect and give thanks. And when Brookwood High School principal Debbie Dees did so, she no doubt was thankful for a faculty, student body and community that helped her school become a Georgia School of Excellence.
Brookwood and Dees deserve kudos for the honor, which is granted in two categories. Brookwood was recognized for being in the top 10 percent of schools in the state as measured in reading and mathematics. Twenty-six schools in Georgia, only four of them high schools, were honored in the two categories.
"We work so very hard every day, and it's an honor to receive such a prestigious award that recognizes our commitment to the students and the community of the Brookwood cluster," Dees said.
That hard work and commitment are reasons for parents in the Brookwood cluster to be thankful as well.
