Kids feed 70 families on Thanksgiving
DULUTH - The children at First Baptist Church Duluth and their families will prepare and deliver Thanksgiving meals today to 70 families in need of assistance. Children who attended the 2008 vacation Bible school raised $4,300 to help people who need assistance. A portion of the money they raised will be used to fund Project: Feed the Need, which will provide fully cooked meals to local families who are in need of food Thanksgiving morning. In addition to paying for the food, the children and their families also prepare the dishes from scratch and package and deliver the meals, which include roast turkey, cornbread dressing, sweet potato souffle, green beans, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls and dessert. This is the third year children have funded the project. In 2007, 40 families received meals.
