Wrestling roundup: Parkview claims Blackbeard Duals title

ALLATOONA - Parkview went 5-0 at the Blackbeard Duals on Saturday at Allatoona High School, winning the tournament championship.

The Panthers defeated North Forsyth 43-23, Paulding County 63-18, North Cobb 46-18, Etowah 51-18 and Hillgrove 66-12.

Robbie Kane, Alex Hillis, Matt Johnson, Matt Andersen and Matt Elakatt were all undefeated for Parkview.

Duluth wins Comet Classic

SNELLVILLE - Duluth won the Comet Classic at South Gwinnett High School on Saturday.

Ian McElroy, Evan Greer and Drake Greer were 5-0, with Evan Greer and Drake Greer recording five pins each. Kenneth Sylvain was 3-1 and Babatunde Shekoni was 4-1.

Freddie Carpinello, Josh Pipkins, Chris Andrewesm and John Dang all picked up their first career wins.

Mill Creek runner-up at Black Knight Duals

LAWRENCEVILLE - Mill Creek took second place at the Black Knight Duals at Central Gwinnett on Saturday.

The Hawks defeated Central Gwinnett 44-33, Morgan County 47-33, Lakeside-DeKalb 54-21 and North Springs 72-12, but lost to Northwest Whitfield, the No. 2 team in Class AAAA, 48-17.

Tommy Caputo was 5-0 with two pins and two technical falls. Tyler Beck, Augustus Appling, Thomas Adams, Ryan Gasaway and Brandon Smith were 4-1. David Harrison and Austin Hagan posted three victories.

Lions finish third at Turkey Trot

ALPHARETTA - Peachtree Ridge placed third at the Turkey Trot Duals on Saturday at Centennial High School.

The No. 6 Lions defeated Forest Park 84-0, Roswell 62-12, Henry County 33-31 and lost to No. 3 Centennial 38-31 and Vestavia (Ala.) 52-20.

Sam Kuntz (189 pounds) and Shaun Scruggs (215) were 5-0, while Alan Gigolaev (171) was 4-0 and Michael Chapman (145) was 4-1.

Berkmar wins three

LAWRENCEVILLE - Berkmar went 3-2 at the Black Knight Duals at Central Gwinnett on Saturday.

The Patriots defeated Carver 60-18, Evans 50-24, Lakeside 54-29 and lost to Northwest Whitfield 54-30 and Riverwood 51-28.

Landon Dao (103 pounds) was 5-0, while Bryan Dao (125), Ahkeem Pierre (130), Enrique Martinez (135), Freddie Lambert (215) and Attila Lolic (285) were 4-1.
