Movie: 4 stars out of 4 Disc: 4 stars out of 4 In spite of its stellar track record, Pixar made a huge gamble when releasing an animated feature that took 30 minutes before the first word of English was spoken. Setting it 700 years in the future on a scorched Earth with no human inhabitants made it even more of a hard-sell. In the long run, none of this mattered as it racked up more than $223 million at the box office and is thus far the most critically acclaimed movie of 2008.
