LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett police said reports of recent robberies, thefts and carjackings in the parking lots surrounding the Mall of Georgia are untrue.
"This is official notification that the incidents described within the e-mails are completely false," said police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman. "There have been no incidents of armed robberies or carjackings in recent weeks in the Mall of Georgia area." Spellman said she has been contacted by several media outlets and that the information was posted on www.scangwinnett.com. Several e-mail chains, she said, were sent out Wednesday.More like this story
