DULUTH - A burglary suspect prompted a chase Monday morning from Duluth police before disappearing into nearby woods, an official said.
The suspect, described by neighbors only as a man, attempted to break in a home in Duluth's River Plantation subdivision, a winding reserve of stately homes tucked on hillsides near the Chattahoochee River, police said. A neighbor reported the alleged burglary about 11:30 a.m. Several officers responded and gave chase, but the suspect ducked into woods and vanished, said Duluth police spokesman Maj. Don Woodruff. "Whoever it was got flat away," Woodruff said, "and nobody ever really saw him." Woodruff was unable to provide a street address where the reported burglary attempt occurred. The investigation continues, he said.More like this story
