Mr. Dale Johnson, age 81, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away on Friday, November 14, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ruth Bennett Johnson. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Sandra Payne and the late, Jerry Payne, Sugar Hill, GA and Kathy Duncan, Sugar Hill, GA; grandchildren, Patty Wilson, Penny Watson, Sugar Hill, GA, Jamie and Dreama Duncan, and Chad and Jody Pass, Buford, GA; great grandchildren, Jeremy and Tyler Wilson, Hannah Watson, Sugar Hill, GA, Jesse and Olivia Duncan, Christian Herring, and Ruthie and Bailey Pass, Buford, GA; brother, Bud Johnson, Buford, GA; sister, Gelaine Parker, Winder, GA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stanley and Helen Bennett, Buford, GA; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Viola Marshingill, Oakwood, GA and Hattie Mae and O'Dean Mauldin, Loganville, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Johnson was born May 3, 1927 in Gwinnett County, GA. He attended Sugar Hill School. He was a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard. He retired as a superintendent of the Body Shop at General Motors Assembly Plant in Doraville, GA after thirty-five years of service. Mr. Johnson was of the Baptist Faith. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. G. Lynne Mouchet officiating. Interment will follow in Sugar Hill Cemetery in Sugar Hill, GA. The following will serve as pallbearers: Jamie Duncan, Chad Pass, Buddy Johnson, Dewayne Sudderth, Rex Humphrey and Chip Parker and the following will serve as honorary pallbearers: Ronnie Phillips, Bobby Boss, Lamar Jordan, Robert Lackey, Roy Wilson, and Winfred Pass. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Arrangements by: Junior E.
