Anne Boggs Latimer, a resident of Duluth, Georgia for over 101 years, died Friday, November 14, 2008. She was born on January 10, 1907, one of nine children born to the late Ben and Elizabeth Boggs. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William B. Latimer, Jr. and her three brothers and five sisters, Glenn, Mary, Frank, Frances, Walter A., Nettie, Ruth and Dorothy. Mrs. Latimer was a 1926 graduate of Duluth High School. She attended Young Harris College and the University of Georgia and went on to become a beloved teacher for over 30 years. Her life was a witness to her faith and love of family. Duluth First United Methodist Church and its members were her foundation and blessed her with spiritual guidance, love and care. "Mama Anne" or "Miss Anne" as she was affectionately known, was a guiding light for all her friends and family, including many nieces and nephews, and always brought love, direction, caring and support. Mrs. Latimer is survived by her devoted family; a son, Ben William and his wife, Rachel of Charlotte, North Carolina; two grandsons, Bill and his wife, Lynn, of Fairfax, Virginia, and Michael and his wife, Laura, of Canton, Georgia. She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Brian, Sara, Claire, Gabrielle and Andrew. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 17, 2008 at Duluth First United Methodist Church with Dr. Tommy Green, Rev. C. Kay Fuine, and Dr. Wilton Moulder officiating. Interment will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 6:00 PM Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Bill Head Funeral Home, Duluth, 770-476-2535.
