Gwinnett Daily Post
Purple Wiggle Jeff Fatt sometimes gets sleepy during shows and dozes off. It is certain, though, that he will be awakened fairly quickly by the children watching out for him in case he nods off during his performances at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Sunday.
"I fall asleep at least three times each show, which is fantastic for the children," Fatt said. "They love waking me up." The 55-year-old Sydney, Australia, native is one of four performers who make up The Wiggles, a musical and performance group whose shows are geared toward pre-school-aged children. Fatt will be joined at the Arena by red Wiggle Murray Cook, blue Wiggle Anthony Field and yellow Wiggle Sam Moran. Fatt and Field played together in the '80s Australian band The Cockroaches, and Fatt got involved with the Wiggles when he was asked to play keyboard on a children's album that eventually led to television shows, videos and tours. The Wiggles will give two shows at the Arena at 1:30 and 5 p.m. Sunday and will be joined by their friends Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus and Captain Feathersword the friendly Pirate. "Children are going to have a fantastic time enjoying singing along and dancing along with the Wiggles," Fatt said. "(The show) goes for about 80 minutes, and it just doesn't stop from beginning to end."
