Miss Parkview Pageant held

Parkview High School's PTSA held their annual "Miss Parkview Pageant" on Oct. 25, with 68 contestants participating and an audience of over 1000 attending. Senior Jordan Dearmon was crowned the 2008-2009 Miss Parkview. Runners-up were Rachel Warren (1st), who also won the Community Service award, Stami Williams (2nd), Madalyn Shores (3rd) and Sarah Smith (4th), who also won the Panther Pride awards. Other senior awards included Academic award to Shelby Flowe; Class Sponsorship award to Kristin Braddy; the Most Promising Model award to Ashley Wilson; and Directors Choice award to Jacqueline Hutton.

The junior class winner was Emeline Tonkin, who also won the Community Service award. Runners-up were Cydney Adams (1st) and Shelby McDonough (2nd). Alexandra Vagasi won the Academic and Class Sponsorship awards. Other junior awards included the Miss Photogenic award to Charlotte Muirhead and the Overall Miss Sponsorship award to Amelia Shaw.

The sophomore class winner was Bailey Frady. Runners-up were Madeline Smith (1st), who also won the Community Service award, and Samantha Bosler (2nd), who also won the Miss Congeniality award. The Class Sponsorship award went to Katie Jones.

The freshman class winner was Leah Chandley. Runners-up were Daron Blankenship (1st) and Asaiah Dunn (2nd), who also won the Community Service award. Other freshman awards included the Class Sponsorship award to Reeves Turner; the Miss Congeniality award to McCall Mullee; the Most Promising Model award to Kelsie Stanton; and the Miss Photogenic award to Mary Claire Nay.

Local boy earns Eagle Scout rank

Kyle Donatucci, son of Bill and Sandy Donatucci of Lawrenceville, earned the rank of an Eagle Scout on Aug. 23. He is a member of Troop 56 chartered by Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church.
