LAWRENCEVILLE - John Smoltz and Jeff Foxworthy have very different professions, but the longtime friends are teaming up for an evening to reflect on their lives, sharing personal stories with each other - and with an audience.
The professional baseball player will put down his glove and pick up a mic, joining Foxworthy in doing what the comedian is known for - making people laugh. Those who attend this unique event may also be treated to appearances by a few of the duo's friends.
Proceeds from Sunday's event, dubbed "An Evening with Smoltz, Foxworthy and Friends," will benefit The John Smoltz Foundation, which supports various nonprofit organizations in the metro Atlanta area.
Tickets for "An Evening with Smoltz, Foxworthy and Friends," can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 404-249-6400.
"I am very excited to have my friend Jeff partner with me for the show," Smoltz said in a news release. "I love to laugh, and we want to invite everyone to come laugh with us."
Inside the Perimeter is a new, occasional Weekend feature that will highlight events happening in Atlanta.
