Janet M. Hinson, age 68 of Lakemont, GA, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2008. Memorial Services will be held 4 PM Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Tiger United Methodist Church, 64 Pleasant Place, Tiger, GA, 30576. A member of Tiger United Methodist Church, Mrs. Hinson played Hand Bells and piano in her Church, directed many Church Musical Productions, was an Elementary School Music Teacher in Pelham, GA, Coached Literary Teams in Choral Musical Competitions, and was a past Cub Scout Den Mother. Mrs. Hinson was the First City Councilwoman in the City of Pelham, GA, Past Chairwoman in Mitchell County Cultural Commission. First & foremost she was a Homemaker. She is survived by her Husband: David H. Hinson, Lakemont , GA; Children: Rev. David B. & Donna Hinson, Lincolnton, GA; Julie & George Boyd, Columbus, GA; Grandchildren: Tyler, Emily & Shelby Hinson; Mary Grace, Catherine & Chloe Boyd; Mother: Edith Wickline, Tyler, TX; Brother & Sister-in-law: Ronald P. & Judi Wickline, Boston, MA; Sister & Brother-in-law: Karen & Dr. James Novy, Tyler, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: American Cancer Society, Gwinnett County Unit, 6500 Sugarloaf Parkway, Suite 260, Duluth, GA. 30097 or Tiger United Methodist Church. The Family will receive friends from 7 - 9 PM Thursday, November 6, 2008 at the Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church.
