GAINESVILLE - Hall County now offers property owners the convenience of paying their tax bills online using an electronic check draft or credit card.
Residents and businesses may use the service at www.hallcounty.org to pay a personal or real property tax bill, according to a news release. The service, which went into effect Saturday, will allow taxpayers to review their bills and current
year account activity online.
A fee of $1.99 will apply to any E-check/Automated Clearinghouse (ACH) payment, which uses a checking account to process a payment. Convenience fees of 2.59 percent of the total bill will apply for Discover, Mastercard and Visa payments. The fees are imposed and collected by Evalon Inc. for the use of the service and do not go to Hall County, the news release states.
Payments may still be made by mail to the Hall County Tax Commissioner's Office, P.O. Box 1579, Gainesville, GA 30503 or in person at the Joint Administration Building at 300 Henry Ward Way, Suite 204, in Gainesville. Credit card processing fees will not be charged if made in person at the Tax Commissioner's Office.
For more information, call the Tax Commissioner's Office at 770-531-6950 during regular business hours.
