STONE MOUNTAIN - A 32-year-old man died Saturday morning after the minivan he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree, Gwinnett County police said.
Stone Mountain resident Paul Monroe Banks died at the scene of the crash, which happened at about 5 a.m. on the 1600 block of Rockbridge Road, police said.
A preliminary investigation indicates Banks was driving southbound on Rockbridge Road in a 2000 Dodge Caravan. The vehicle was going around a curve when, for unknown reasons, it left the road and hit the tree, police said.
Banks was the only occupant of the minivan. Police are investigating the incident.
