DACULA - An off-duty Gwinnett County Police Department officer found a dead man - who police say could have been murdered - Sunday near the parking lot of a Dacula hardware store.
The victim, who police have not yet positively identified, is described only as a Hispanic male. How he died is under investigation, said Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman.
"The circumstances surrounding this incident are unknown," Spellman said. "The investigation is ongoing."
The officer found the man laying near the roadway about 6 a.m. The body lay near the parking lot of a hardware store at 1941 Harbins Road, near the intersection of New Hope Road.
