LAWRENCEVILLE - Democratic challengers came forward Friday, the last of this week's qualifying period, taking places in every commission and school board race in Gwinnett.
Also Friday, Danny Yearwood and Jim Beckemeyer posed challenges to Barrow County Chairman Doug Garrison during July's Republican primary. Three people - two Republicans and a Democrat - filed paperwork seeking Sen. Dan Weber's seat, and two more joined the race to replace Rep. Robert Mumford, who is stepping down from his southern Gwinnett district.
