LOGANVILLE - A Loganville woman lying in a roadway was struck and killed early Friday morning by an oncoming vehicle, police say.
Michele Ketschek, 24, was struck by a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta driven by an unidentified 16-year-old girl on Rosebud Road near Temple Johnson Road about 2:15 a.m., Gwinnett police Cpl. Illana T. Spellman said. Investigators believe Ketschek may have been suffering from a seizure, "hence her cause for lying in the roadway," Spellman said. The victim, who police say was hit at a low rate of speed, was found under the vehicle and died on scene, she said. Police said the victim's sister said the deceased had a history of seizures and drug abuse. The driver, who police say is from the Loganville area, was accompanied by two 17-year-old male passengers. Their names were not released by authorities. The driver may face misdemeanor charges for violating curfew and passenger limit restrictions, Spellman said. Police say she was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident.More like this story
