Jackson L. Armstrong, age 83 of Snellville, Georgia passed away early Thursday morning, March 27, 2008, at Embracing Hospice. He was born in Headland, Alabama, on August 9, 1924. Jack attended Auburn University and Troy State University, and has resided in the Atlanta area since 1957. Mr. Armstrong retired as President of Colonial Baking Company of Atlanta in 1988, and was an active member of Snellville United Methodist Church. He was beloved by all who knew him, never met a stranger, and was most importantly a family man. Mr. Armstrong was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacqueline Armstrong and is survived by his wife of 63 years, Irene Woodham Armstrong of Snellville; daughter, Donna Armstrong Curl and son-in-law, Mike Curl of Snellville; son, Keith Jackson Armstrong and daughter-in-law, Gretchen Armstrong of Atlanta; grandchildren, Ashley Curl Johnston and husband Mark of Dacula, GA, Heather Curl Rutherford and husband Mike of Bishop, GA; Beth Curl Christie of Snellville, Austin Armstrong of Atlanta and Jackson Armstrong of Atlanta; great grandchildren, Jack Christie of Snellville, Ryan and Tanner Johnston of Dacula and Ella, Ben and Will Rutherford of Bishop; sister, Eunice Wynn of Dothan, AL; sister-in-law, Pauline Henderson of Ozark, AL and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 30 at 3pm at Snellville United Methodist Church with Dr. James Mooneyhan, Dr. Richard Hunter and Rev. Owen Skinner officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 6 until 8pm at the funeral home.
